Being prepared by having a Fist Aid kit at home is good practice. Having a kit with pasters, bandages, anticeptics , something for bites and stings, coughs and colds etc.

There are a number of ailments which are classed as minor ailments which the NHS and your GP suggest that you can treat at home, without having to visit your GP. Your local community pharmacist is also on hand to help with minor ailments and you will find them very knowledgable.
In my younger years I was a Girl Guide and it somehow taught me that it was a good idea to be prepared, So having a First Aid Kit at home is common sense. Along with the classics of the first aid kit I like to include arnica cream (great for bruises -do not apply to open wounds) arnica tablets (for all bumps and bruises, etc) calendula tincture for use diluted to clean wounds and help healing.
Having a homeopathic first aid kit, with a number of selected remedies is also a great idea and helps you to deal effectively with minor ailments. In each kit there is a little booklet which gives suggestions of which remedies to use for each ailment. I find it really helpful to have access to such a kit because it’s very helpful to be able to start to alleviate uncomfortable symptoms. It’s uncanny how many times minor ailments seem to strike when the shops are closed etc and very useful to be prepared with a First Aid or Minor Ailment kit.
You still might need to get further advice, but in the meantime you are doing something to help.
