Mass Medication

As human beings living on Planet earth we have many similarities which are clearly observable.

Yet despite our similarities it is also important to consider our differences. When this comes to our health this is especially important.  I want to discuss this further.

For example let’s take a look at diets.  There are many different diets available many targeted to individual needs, vegan diets, vegetarian diets, weight loss diets, gluten free diets, paeleo diets, diabetic diets and the list goes on.  The diet that suits one person may not suit another person for a number of different reasons.

When it comes to individualised diets for health I would like to focus on the “Eat right 4 your type” by Dr Peter Adamo. This diet is called an individualised blood type diet.  The work of Dr Adamo suggests different diets and exercise depending on your blood group. The way we handle stress, absorb foods will differ with each individual blood group. Your blood group affects your internal chemistry.

There are 4 main blood groups A, B AB and O.  Each of these blood groups can be either RHD positive or negative which gives us 8 blood groups. A single drop of blood too small to see with the human eye contains the entire genetic blueprint of the human being. Blood is a complex living fluid it is the key to your immune system. We also know if you are given the wrong blood type then a life threatening situation is on the cards.

It’s well worth taking a look at this book especially if you have tried a number of weight loss diets over the years.

Individualisation of diets makes a great deal of sense, especially one that is linked to your blood type.   Your blood type is responsible for your susceptibility to illness how you process food and your emotional response to stress.

No two people are alike; we have different fingerprints, lip prints, voice prints and iris prints.

So it makes a great deal of sense that each blood type would require different foods and exercise regimes.

So let’s consider for a moment pharmaceutical medications.  It appears that generally it’s a one size fits all regime, dependant on the condition being treated.  Yet how can that be?

We know that some medications cause side effects for some people but not for others.

It doesn’t help that many drug trials have been carried out using animals but animals react differently to humans. For example a hedgehog can ingest a dose of arsenic big enough to kill a human without causing any harm to it.

Doesn’t it therefore question if one method of treatment suits all. Knowing what we know about the human species it seems ludicrous to me to assume this.

Mass medication is highly questionable. For example fluoridation of the water supply could be considered mass medication. It’s meant to prevent cavities but not everyone has a problem with cavities. Once again that comes down to susceptibility, diet and more, its about you as an individual. So is it really a good idea to fluoridate the water when not everybody needs this treatment?

Vaccination could also be considered mass medication but once again it’s not a one size fits all and it’s not going to suit everyone.

Because of this we need to be looking at other ways to treat people. Looking at diet, nutrition, prevention etc.  It’s very short sighted to believe that you can treat everyone in the same way because not everyone is the same and inevitably because of this some will suffer side effects.

Many alternative systems of medicine do treat the person as an individual, probably the most well known of these treatments is homeopathy. Homeopathy has been used for hundreds of years and if you are interested in being treated as an individual then it’s a system of medicine well worth looking in to. Contact me to find out more

The issue with injectables is once they are in your body that’s it, you can’t just stop taking the product, if it doesn’t suit you then you just have to deal with the side effects.

It’s always wise to do a risk v benefit analysis and make an educated decision.

Is it just me or does the current paradigm of medicine seem out dated and due for change. It’s as if we are at a stage similar to the discovery of the world being round and many still think that it’s flat. But we know with out doubt it’s not flat.

It’s now the same for our current medical paradigm, there have been many advances in science especially quantum physics, we live in a quantum universe and it’s time for these new principles to be applied in health care.

It’s time for the text books to be rewritten.
